Engaged! 2.21.10

For all those who have asked, here's the story...

We went to the Kennedy Center on Sunday for brunch (amazing food, a dessert ROOM!!, and a great view of the Potomac) and "ended up" wandering around the balcony afterwards, enjoying the view and taking pictures.

At some point, Navid decided to play with the shutter speed so we could take multiple pictures one after the other...so naturally, my reaction was to do the robot/vogue. :) Then, he wanted me to take pictures of him, so I obliged. At one point, I looked up and told him, "stop doing that, it looks like you're scratching your butt!" He looked a little confused and said something like, "Oh, sorry. Ok, take some more."

So as I was attempting round 2 of Navid's photo session, I see this little red box appear in the screen. I looked up, as I was still taking pictures, and he was there saying, "Wendy Jo Matheny, will you marry me?" (In my head, I was thinking: what's that? a box. a ring box. oh, he's proposing. he's really doing this. ooh, I should probably respond now...) According to Navid, I stood there with a shocked look on my face for about 10 seconds...and finally said yes.

  3. Tracy - did you note that Navid is actually the fish in one of the photos in the collage? I didn't realize it at the time, but yeah. We call that DESTINY!

PS - You'll always be my first true fish! (Shhh, don't tell.) =-p
