We should also mention that we owe a special thanks to my (Wendy's) parents, Vicki and Leonard, for some handy sleuth work on our behalf. With their help, we have photos to share of the art center and the space we'll be using for the ceremony/reception. Location, location, location!
Both the wedding ceremony and the reception will be held at the Contemporary Art Center of Peoria. As Navid and I come from different cultural and religious backgrounds, we thought we would pick a "neutral" location where all of our guests will feel comfortable. (On top of that, we're very happy to see some of our money going to Peoria's local art scene instead of the ridiculously huge bridal industry!)
Regarding the actual space... We'll be using the 2nd floor gallery where the center regularly hosts live music, dancing, and special events in addition to their regular visual arts exhibits. Thus far, they've been very helpful and answered all of our questions. We're keeping our fingers crossed that their flexibility and laid back style become a general theme of the wedding planning process. (So far, so good!)
