Surprise trip to Peoria

Much to Wendy's mom's surprise, the Navendy wedding-planning-party-bus (Navid, Wendy and Justin) showed up at the Matheny family doorstep around midnight on Friday evening.  Although Mother's Day weekend is decidedly not the best time for scheduling meetings with with bakers, caterers, and florists, we got a lot done - and made the mommy happy in the process.

After tasting at least 15 kinds of cake (no joking), we reached the maximum amount of sugar two people could possibly injest, as well as a decision on the cake we'll have at our wedding!  Many thanks to Cathy, Justin, Vicki, Leonard, and Dwayne for bravely helping us eat the leftovers.

In between bites of cake, we also visited the Contemporary Art Center to check out where we'll actually be getting married (very cool), visited a few florists (even ugly flowers are expensive), and met with a handful of caterers (because we needed more food?).  While we clearly have a lot left to do, all in all, it was a successful visit!
